Barbara Mathes Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the sixth annual Master Drawings New York. Modeled after the highly successful Master Drawings London, now in its 12th year, this event joins 23 galleries on New York's Upper East Side, as well as two auction houses, for the display of works on paper from the 15th through the 20th centuries, in mediums such as charcoal, watercolor, pastel, oil sketch, and more. The gallery will be presenting a broad selection of 20th century art, including a luminous Oscar Bluemner watercolor; a calligraphic Abstract Expressionist work by David Smith; Minimalist drawings by Fred Sandback, Brice Marden and Sol LeWitt; Pop by Christo and Claes Oldenburg; and contemporary selections by Enrico Castellani, John Graham, Yayoi Kusama, Gerhard Richter and Lee Ufan.

Master Drawings New York opens with a special preview on Friday, January 20th from 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock pm and continues through Saturday, January 28th. The gallery's exhibition of works on paper will remain on view through February 25th.
